Dashboards and machine learning models are only as good as the pipelines feeding them, and in most organisations the hardest data sits inside ERP systems and legacy databases. Ten days of laboratory work take experienced technical staff from database design to production-grade data platforms. You work with relational design, indexing, query tuning and transactions, then move to extraction and modelling of finance, procurement, inventory and HR data from systems such as SAP, Oracle and Dynamics.
Pipeline sessions use Python, SQL and orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow to build batch and incremental loads, apply data validation and handle schema change. You design star schemas, slowly changing dimensions and a warehouse or lakehouse layer, and work with Spark, cloud storage and streaming concepts for larger volumes. Later days address performance, security, monitoring, testing, documentation and delivery of curated datasets to analysts. Data engineers, database administrators, ERP analysts, business intelligence developers, systems integrators and software developers moving into data roles are the intended audience. Afterwards you can build, schedule and monitor an end-to-end pipeline and defend your design decisions to technical peers. Formats are classroom, online and in-house, with a CPD-accredited certificate.
Organisations now expect data to flow reliably from operational systems into analytics and reporting, yet many still depend on manual exports and fragile scripts. Enterprise resource planning systems hold the most valuable transactional records, but their data structures are complex, heavily customised and poorly documented. Engineers who can tame this complexity are in short supply.
The Advanced Data Engineering, Databases & ERP Data Training Course is a technical programme for people who already write SQL and some code. The first five days establish solid engineering foundations: relational design and normalisation, indexing and execution plans, transaction control, data modelling for analysis, ETL and ELT patterns, and the structure of ERP data across finance, supply chain and human resources. The second five days go deeper: orchestration, incremental loading and change data capture, data warehouse and lakehouse architecture, distributed processing with Spark, streaming, data quality testing, security and governance, and operational monitoring.
Nearly every session is a laboratory. Participants load and profile ERP-style extracts, optimise slow queries, build a dimensional model, code pipelines and schedule them with an orchestrator. The programme ends with an integrated project in which each participant delivers a documented pipeline and a curated dataset for reporting.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
