This advanced course builds capability across the more demanding remote sensing techniques increasingly required in operational earth observation work. Participants cover hyperspectral image analysis and spectral unmixing, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interpretation for all-weather monitoring, and machine learning classification approaches including random forest and support vector machines applied to satellite imagery.
The course also covers image fusion techniques for combining optical and radar data, time-series analysis using dense satellite data stacks, and validating advanced classification and change products against reference data to defensible accuracy standards.
