Over ten days you move from the 3D workspace, user coordinate systems, viewports and visual styles into solid modelling with extrude, revolve, sweep, loft and Boolean operations. Surface modelling sessions show how to build and edit NURBS and procedural surfaces for curved, free-form shapes, while mesh tools handle organic forms that solids cannot describe easily. Throughout, you learn to edit sub-objects, section models and extract 2D drawings from 3D geometry.
Visualization takes the second half of the programme: applying and mapping materials, setting up sun, sky and artificial lighting, placing cameras and producing rendered stills and walkthrough animations. Exercises include a mechanical part, a furniture piece and a small building, each taken from wireframe to finished render.
