The most resilient agribusiness ventures are often those that build genuine, fair partnerships with the smallholder farmers, youth, and women who supply or work within their value chains, rather than treating inclusion as an afterthought. This five-day course teaches inclusive agribusiness entrepreneurship: designing business models that create real economic opportunity for marginalized groups while remaining commercially competitive. Participants examine outgrower schemes, youth-inclusive agribusiness models, and women-led enterprise structures that have succeeded across the region, alongside the common pitfalls that undermine inclusion in practice.
Through applied exercises, participants develop a business model canvas for an inclusive agribusiness concept, identify partnership structures that fairly share risk and value, and design a basic plan for engaging youth or women as suppliers, employees, or co-owners. The course closes with participants pitching their venture concept and receiving structured feedback.
