Live Online Executive Arbitration, Mediation & Dispute Resolution Training Course
Live online, instructor-led · next cohort Oct 26, 2026 · from USD 800
A contract dispute that drifts into years of court proceedings drains management time, damages supplier relationships and ties up cash. Senior managers and legal advisers who know the full range of resolution options can settle most disagreements earlier and at far lower cost. Five days equip you to diagnose a dispute, weigh negotiation against mediation, expert determination, adjudication, arbitration and litigation, and choose the route that protects the commercial relationship and the outcome.
You draft multi-tier dispute clauses, practise mediation techniques such as interest-based bargaining and caucusing, and learn how an arbitration proceeds from notice through pleadings, document production, hearings and the award. Sessions refer to the UNCITRAL Model Law and Rules, institutional rules such as ICC and LCIA, and enforcement under the New York Convention. General counsel, contract managers, procurement and project directors, claims specialists and public sector officers will benefit. Delivery is classroom, online or in-house and concludes with a CPD-accredited certificate. Afterwards you can brief counsel, represent your organisation in mediation and prepare a persuasive case for a tribunal.

About this course
Disputes are an unavoidable part of commerce, particularly in construction, energy, trade, joint ventures and public procurement, where large sums and long timelines meet changing circumstances. How an organisation manages a dispute often matters more than the merits of the claim itself. Delay, publicity and strained relationships can cost more than the amount in contention.
The Executive Arbitration, Mediation & Dispute Resolution Training Course gives leaders a clear map of the options and the skills to use them. It starts with the anatomy of a dispute and the principles of negotiation, then moves to mediation, expert determination and adjudication. The middle of the programme covers arbitration in depth: the arbitration agreement, appointing the tribunal, jurisdiction, procedure, evidence, hearings, awards, challenges and cross-border enforcement. The closing sessions deal with cost, strategy and the design of dispute-prevention systems.
Participants learn by doing. Mock negotiations, a full mediation simulation and a short arbitration hearing built on a realistic construction and supply dispute allow each person to practise advocacy and decision-making under pressure. Each exercise ends with structured feedback so that lessons are carried straight back into practice.
