This course teaches humanitarian professionals to conduct gender analysis and integrate gender equality into all aspects of program design, implementation, and monitoring.
Gender inequality shapes who benefits from humanitarian and development programs, who faces barriers, and whether projects address or reinforce unequal power relations. This five-day course teaches humanitarian professionals to apply gender analysis: understanding how gender shapes access to resources, participation in decision-making, and outcomes in different sectors, conducting gender analysis as part of program design, and integrating gender-responsive approaches throughout implementation. Participants examine gender analysis case studies and tools used across humanitarian and development programs.
Practical sessions include conducting a gender analysis for a sector or program, designing gender-responsive program activities, and developing a gender action plan. Participants leave with skills and tools to advance gender equality within their organizations and programs.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Day 1: Conducting a Gender Analysis
Day 2: Understanding Gender and Resource Access
Day 3: Integrating Analysis into Programme Planning
Day 4: Designing Gender-Responsive Programming
Day 5: Developing and Implementing a Gender Action Plan
This course focuses on the technical analysis and planning process behind gender mainstreaming, for staff who design and appraise programmes rather than deliver gender-focused interventions directly.
Participants who complete the five days receive a Certificate of Completion from Vision Reach Global Consultancy, confirming their grounding in gender mainstreaming analysis and planning methods.
