Live Online Inventory Control and Fleet Management Training

Live online, instructor-led · next cohort Nov 9, 2026 · from USD 800

Stock and vehicles tie up more working capital than most operations managers realise, and poor control of either shows up as stock-outs, idle trucks and fuel bills nobody can explain. The week opens with inventory fundamentals: demand patterns, economic order quantity, reorder points and safety stock, plus ABC classification to focus effort on the items that matter. Warehouse and stock management sessions cover receiving, bin locations, cycle counts, stock reconciliation and shrinkage control. You then move to fleet fundamentals, from vehicle acquisition and allocation to preventive maintenance schedules and service records.

About this course

This 5-day practical course bridges inventory management and fleet operations, teaching participants to balance stock levels while optimizing transportation assets. Covers inventory forecasting, ABC analysis, reorder point calculations, and fleet maintenance scheduling to minimize total logistics costs.

Participants gain hands-on experience with inventory management systems and GPS fleet tracking tools, learning to implement lean principles and preventive maintenance schedules that extend vehicle lifecycle and reduce downtime.

Throughout the programme, participants work through realistic scenarios drawn from public procurement bodies, commercial supply chains, logistics operations, and donor-funded tendering environments, examining how inventory control and fleet management is applied in practice and where it most often breaks down. Delegates will develop practical skill in designing appropriate frameworks, selecting and applying the right tools for warehouse and stock management, interpreting findings, and communicating conclusions clearly to colleagues, management and external stakeholders. Sessions move deliberately from principles to application, so that each technique introduced is practised against a realistic problem before the programme moves on — strengthening both individual effectiveness and the wider capability of the organizations delegates return to.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Develop robust inventory control and fleet management frameworks that support successful implementation and measurable outcomes.
  • Analyze performance using recognized evaluation methods drawn from warehouse and stock management.
