Reports are only as good as the data pipelines beneath them, and many organisations still rebuild the same spreadsheets by hand from ERP exports. Engineers who can move, clean and model data reliably are in short supply. This ten-day, lab-driven programme turns analysts, developers and ERP users into capable data engineers. The first week covers relational design, normalisation, entity relationship diagrams, advanced SQL with joins, window functions and indexing, and Python with pandas for transformation, together with PostgreSQL and SQL Server style administration basics.
The second week applies these skills to real integration work: extracting data from SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics and Odoo style ERP modules, building ETL and ELT pipelines, scheduling with Airflow, modelling star schema warehouses, validating data quality, handling cloud storage and publishing curated tables to Power BI. A final project delivers an end-to-end pipeline from ERP tables to a dashboard. Data analysts, BI developers, database administrators, ERP super users, software developers, finance systems staff and ICT officers in banks, utilities, government and NGOs will find it immediately useful. Classroom, online and in-house delivery is available with a CPD-accredited certificate. Afterwards you can design, build and maintain dependable data flows.
Modern organisations generate data in dozens of systems, with the ERP at the centre holding finance, procurement, inventory, sales and human resources records. Getting that data into a form that analysts and leaders can trust requires engineering, not just exporting files. Manual extracts break, definitions drift between departments and reports disagree, which erodes confidence in the numbers.
This practical programme runs for ten days and builds data engineering skills from the ground up. Participants start with relational database design and structured query language, working through normalisation, keys and constraints, complex queries, window functions, views, stored procedures and performance tuning. They then learn Python for data work, using pandas to read, reshape, validate and combine data from files, databases and web services. The middle of the course introduces data architecture, including staging areas, data warehouses and lakes, dimensional modelling, and the difference between ETL and ELT.
The second half concentrates on ERP data. Participants study typical ERP table structures and master and transactional data, extract data through database connections, APIs and reports, and resolve problems such as inconsistent codes, duplicates and history. They build scheduled pipelines, implement quality checks and logging, apply security and access controls, and publish curated datasets for analytics. The programme closes with a capstone project in which each participant delivers a documented pipeline and warehouse for a realistic business case.
