Organisations now depend on data for decisions, regulatory returns, customer service and automation, yet much of it sits in disconnected systems with unclear definitions and inconsistent quality. Poor data increases cost, slows projects and undermines confidence in analytics, while rising expectations around privacy and security make informal handling of data difficult to defend.
The Advanced Data Governance, Quality & Stewardship Training Course is aimed at practitioners who must move beyond policies on paper. Participants study how to secure executive sponsorship, define scope and decision rights, and structure governance bodies that can resolve disputes quickly. They learn to define critical data elements, build a business glossary and catalogue, and measure quality through dimensions such as completeness, validity, uniqueness, timeliness and consistency. The course also explains master data management, lineage, classification, access and retention controls, and how governance applies to data sharing, cloud platforms and machine learning inputs.
Practical work runs throughout. Delegates profile real-style data, write rules, simulate a data issue escalation and define stewardship responsibilities. They finish with a governance roadmap that sets priorities, metrics and a realistic timetable for their organisation.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
