Farmers produce but often struggle to market profitably — middlemen capture margins while farmers receive commodity prices. This course teaches farmers and value chain actors agribusiness and entrepreneurship skills that help them access markets directly, negotiate better terms, and build enterprises that capture more of the value they create.
Participants work through business planning, marketing, and farmer-to-buyer negotiations, building practical skills for agribusiness success.
Throughout the programme, participants work through realistic scenarios drawn from public sector institutions, private enterprises, development organizations, and regulated professional environments, examining how Agro-Entrepreneurship and market facilitation is applied in practice and where it most often breaks down. Delegates will develop practical skill in designing appropriate frameworks, selecting and applying the right tools for negotiating better buyer contracts, interpreting findings, and communicating conclusions clearly to colleagues, management and external stakeholders. Sessions move deliberately from principles to application, so that each technique introduced is practised against a realistic problem before the programme moves on — strengthening both individual effectiveness and the wider capability of the organizations delegates return to.
