Reports to financial intelligence units are the starting point of most money laundering and terrorist financing prosecutions, yet many are rejected, ignored or later discredited because the narrative is unclear or the supporting records are incomplete. Institutions that cannot show why they suspected, what they checked and when they acted risk regulatory sanction, and investigators who cannot explain their work in court risk losing the case.
The AML/CFT Reporting, Case Documentation, and Courtroom Testimony Training Course follows an alert from first suspicion through to the witness box. Participants learn to apply risk-based indicators, record the rationale for escalation, and write reports that answer who, what, when, where, why and how. They then build case files: organising bank records, mapping beneficial ownership, reconstructing the movement of funds, preserving evidence and meeting disclosure duties. The later sessions concentrate on testimony, including preparing a statement, handling cross-examination, explaining complex transactions to a judge or magistrate and maintaining professional composure under pressure.
Because the topic spans ten days, learning builds progressively from reporting basics to advanced analysis and applied simulation. Participants work with anonymised case material and finish with a full file and a recorded mock hearing.
