Energy bills, grid reliability and climate targets have turned building performance into a board-level concern. Offices, malls, hotels, hospitals, schools and government complexes can often reduce consumption by a fifth or more through low-cost operational changes, but only when someone measures how energy is really being used and has the discipline to follow through. Without that, retrofits are specified from habit and savings rarely appear on the bill.
The Best Practices in Building Energy Performance & Decarbonisation Training Course sets out the proven methods for improving existing buildings and briefing better new ones. Participants work from metering and baselining through audit techniques, equipment and systems efficiency, controls and operations, on-site renewables, and finally the emissions accounting and financing needed to commit to a decarbonisation pathway.
The emphasis is on repeatable process: how to structure an audit, how to rank measures by cost and carbon, how to verify savings and how to keep performance from drifting after a project is handed over. Participants analyse sample bills and logger data, complete an audit exercise on a case building and leave with a draft energy management plan for their own facility.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
The course is aimed at those who operate, design, own or finance buildings:
Each participant leaves with:
The course mixes technical input with applied building work:
Attendance on all days and completion of the audit and appraisal exercises earn a CPD-accredited Certificate of Completion from Vision Reach Global Consultancy.
