Communication used to be judged on column inches and impressions. Today audiences react in real time across social platforms, messaging groups and news sites, and a crisis can move from local complaint to national story within a single afternoon. Teams that cannot see the pattern early, or that cannot show what their messaging achieved, struggle to win budget and executive trust.
Data and Analytics for Crisis and Strategic Communication gives practitioners a working toolkit. The first sessions cover what to measure and why, from objectives and indicators through to data sources and their biases. Participants then set up monitoring and listening for an issue, classify content, and read signals of escalation such as volume spikes, influencer pickup and shifts in sentiment. Further days apply audience research and segmentation to message design, test alternatives, and evaluate campaigns against outcomes rather than activity. The programme finishes with reporting, storytelling with numbers and an ethical approach to data, privacy and misinformation.
Training is hands-on. Participants work with sample datasets and simulated crisis timelines, producing a monitoring plan, a live dashboard and an executive briefing.
