Advocacy and partnership teams in civil society, networks and public bodies are working in a very different environment from even five years ago. Decision makers read policy briefs on their phones, citizens organise around hashtags and community radio call-ins, and funders ask for evidence of influence rather than a list of meetings held. Digital transformation in this field is not about buying software; it is about changing how an organisation listens, plans, collaborates and learns.
The Digital Transformation in Advocacy, Policy Influence & Partnerships Training Course starts with a diagnostic of current practice and a theory of change for a chosen policy issue. It then builds the digital foundations: stakeholder databases and power mapping, content and campaign planning, social listening, policy tracking and rapid response. Later sessions turn to collaboration with coalitions, government counterparts and private sector partners, covering shared platforms, data governance, consent and digital safety for staff and communities at risk.
Learning is practical. Participants work on their own advocacy issues, build working templates and dashboards, and test them in simulated policy windows. They finish with a costed digital roadmap, a monitoring framework that links online activity to policy outcomes and a plan for bringing colleagues and partners on board.
