Assets represent the largest share of the balance sheet in utilities, transport agencies, county governments, manufacturers and many NGOs, yet the data describing them is often the weakest in the organisation. Inaccurate registers distort depreciation, hide impairment, weaken audit opinions and lead to maintenance spending that is reactive rather than planned.
The Digital Transformation in Asset Management (Fixed Assets, ISO 55001) Training Course explains how digital systems can bring finance, engineering and operations onto a common view of the asset base. Participants start with the asset lifecycle and the structure of an ISO 55001 management system, then move into register design, tagging and identification, physical verification and capitalisation rules. The middle of the week turns to technology: choosing between EAM, CMMS and ERP fixed asset modules, cleansing and migrating data, mobile inspection tools, GIS and condition monitoring. The final sessions apply analytics to criticality, risk, lifecycle cost and renewal forecasting, and address the change management needed to keep data current.
Group tasks use sample registers and workshop scenarios, so participants can practise cleansing records and building a business case. Each person produces an outline project plan for digitising assets in their own organisation.
