Chemical handling and laboratory work carry hazards that depend on accurate, current information: what is stored where, who is authorised to work, which controls are in place and whether equipment is within its safe limits. When that information lives in files and memory, it ages quickly. Digital systems promise a single, searchable and auditable record, and sensors and analytics can warn of deviations before they become releases, fires or injuries.
The Digital Transformation in Chemical Handling, Laboratory & Process Safety Training Course helps participants judge which technologies fit their operations and how to introduce them safely. It starts with the safety and regulatory case for digitisation, then examines chemical inventory and hazard communication tools, laboratory information systems and electronic records, and plant-side systems such as permit-to-work, inspection, alarm and gas detection platforms. Participants study how data from these sources can feed process safety indicators and dashboards, and how predictive analytics and digital twins support decisions.
Teaching combines vendor-neutral demonstrations, sample data exercises and workshops. Participants analyse their own processes, design a target workflow for one high-risk activity and leave with a prioritised roadmap, including data governance and cyber security safeguards. Basic knowledge of chemical safety or laboratory practice is assumed.
