This 5-day course equips procurement professionals with knowledge to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into supplier relationships and procurement decisions. Participants learn international standards like Fair Trade, ISO 20400, and carbon accounting methodologies for responsible supply chains.
The programme covers supplier audit techniques, ethical risk assessment, sustainability reporting, and stakeholder engagement strategies that align supply chain operations with corporate responsibility commitments and consumer expectations.
Throughout the programme, participants work through realistic scenarios drawn from public procurement bodies, commercial supply chains, logistics operations, and donor-funded tendering environments, examining how ethical sourcing and sustainability in supply chain is applied in practice and where it most often breaks down. Delegates will develop practical skill in designing appropriate frameworks, selecting and applying the right tools for ESG frameworks for supplier assessment, interpreting findings, and communicating conclusions clearly to colleagues, management and external stakeholders. Sessions move deliberately from principles to application, so that each technique introduced is practised against a realistic problem before the programme moves on — strengthening both individual effectiveness and the wider capability of the organizations delegates return to.
