Energy cost, tenant expectations and climate disclosure rules are converging on the same point: leaders who cannot explain how their buildings perform will struggle to attract capital, retain occupiers or meet public commitments. Most of the savings available sit in a small number of decisions about targets, investment priorities and operating culture, and those decisions belong at executive level.
The Executive Building Energy Performance & Decarbonisation Training Course concentrates on those decisions. Participants review how a building uses energy, how performance is benchmarked and rated, and how emissions are measured across a portfolio. They then compare efficiency, electrification and renewable options, test business cases with payback, net present value and lifecycle cost, and explore financing routes including energy performance contracting and green finance. Later sessions address governance, reporting, procurement of energy services and the management of embodied carbon in refurbishment and new development.
Teaching is discussion-led and built on portfolio case studies. Delegates interrogate sample energy data, rank interventions for a mixed estate and leave with a draft roadmap, a set of governance questions to put to their own teams and a clear sense of where to commission specialist advice.
