Administrative professionals sit close to the centre of financial decision making. They draft the memo that requests funds, assemble the board pack, record who approved a payment and chase the actions that follow. Errors in wording, figures or minutes can lead to audit queries, delayed payments, disputes over what was agreed and weakened accountability, especially in organisations that answer to donors, regulators or shareholders.
The Financial Management for Business Writing and Minute Taking Training Course combines two skill sets that are seldom taught together. The first part builds working financial literacy: budgets and variance, the main financial statements, cost classification, procurement and payment documentation, and the vocabulary used by finance teams. The second part applies it to writing and recording, covering report structure, executive summaries, presenting figures in tables, drafting recommendations, and minuting meetings where finances are discussed and approved.
Learning is practical throughout. Participants rewrite poor documents, convert raw figures into short narratives, and take minutes from simulated finance committee meetings, then compare and refine them in groups. By the end they will have templates for a finance memo, a variance commentary and a set of action-focused minutes ready to use at work.
