Digital fluency is no longer a specialist skill. Almost every job now involves shared documents, online meetings, spreadsheets, messaging and some form of cloud system, and organisations moving to hybrid work depend on every employee using these tools sensibly. Gaps in basic skills show up as duplicated work, version confusion, missed messages, insecure habits and a reluctance to adopt new systems.
This foundation programme is for people who want solid footing rather than shortcuts. Participants begin with the digital environment: devices, operating systems, files and folders, internet and cloud concepts. They then build routines in the tools most offices use, covering email and calendars, document creation, presentations, spreadsheets, shared storage, and real-time collaboration, including both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace so that learning transfers between employers. Later sessions address productivity habits such as notifications and time management, finding reliable information online, working with data in simple tables and charts, and using AI writing assistants responsibly.
Everything is taught by doing. Participants work on realistic office tasks at their own pace with a facilitator alongside, and finish with a personal digital toolkit and a plan for continued practice.
