This advanced course integrates QGIS and R to give participants both strong cartographic output and rigorous statistical analysis in a single, reproducible workflow. Participants work with the sf package for spatial data handling in R, spdep for spatial statistics including Moran's I and spatial regression, and ggplot2 for publication-quality spatial visualisation.
The course also covers using the QGIS-R integration plugin to call R scripts directly from QGIS, building reproducible analysis scripts using R Markdown, and combining both platforms' strengths on a full applied spatial analysis project.
Throughout the programme, participants work through realistic scenarios drawn from public sector institutions, private enterprises, development organizations, and regulated professional environments, examining how GIS, mapping, and spatial analysis with QGIS and r is applied in practice and where it most often breaks down.
