Financial systems depend on supervisors who can detect weakness early and on compliance leaders who can turn rules into everyday behaviour. Yet technical expertise alone does not deliver results. Teams need clear priorities, fair performance standards, strong judgement under pressure and the confidence to challenge senior bankers when the evidence demands it.
The Leadership and Performance in Banking Supervision & Regulatory Compliance Training Course combines both strands. Participants review the architecture of modern supervision, including risk-based approaches, on-site and off-site assessment, early-warning indicators and the interaction of capital, liquidity, credit quality and governance. They then explore compliance frameworks, financial crime controls and the role of the compliance function, before turning to leadership topics such as coaching analysts, setting performance measures, managing conflict and presenting difficult messages to boards and ministers.
Learning is case-driven. Participants interpret sample financial ratios, examine anonymised inspection findings, role-play supervisory meetings and draft a team performance framework. The sessions suit regulators and banks alike, so participants gain both perspectives on how oversight works in practice and on what each side needs from the other.
