Most organisations want more innovation but manage their teams in ways that quietly suppress it. This course shows leaders how to build the conditions innovation actually needs: psychological safety for sharing untested ideas, structured ideation methods such as design thinking sprints, and a lightweight innovation pipeline that moves ideas from concept to pilot without drowning in bureaucracy.
Participants practise facilitating ideation sessions, evaluating ideas against feasibility and impact criteria, and managing the tension between creative exploration and delivery deadlines using real team scenarios.
Throughout the programme, participants work through realistic scenarios drawn from public sector institutions, private enterprises, development organizations, and regulated professional environments, examining how leading and managing innovative teams is applied in practice and where it most often breaks down. Delegates will develop practical skill in designing appropriate frameworks, selecting and applying the right tools for evaluating and selecting ideas, interpreting findings, and communicating conclusions clearly to colleagues, management and external stakeholders. Sessions move deliberately from principles to application, so that each technique introduced is practised against a realistic problem before the programme moves on — strengthening both individual effectiveness and the wider capability of the organizations delegates return to.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

By the end of the Leading and Managing Innovative Teams Training, participants will leave with:
