Supply networks are being reshaped across Africa by growing e-commerce, regional trade corridors and pressure on landed costs. Every new depot, port-side warehouse or transport fleet is a capital project, yet many are managed as routine operations tasks, with weak scoping, unclear ownership and late discovery of constraints such as power, access roads or customs procedures.
The Logistics & Supply Network Project Delivery Excellence Training Course connects network planning with project management practice. Participants begin with network design logic and feasibility, then move through business case preparation, scope definition, scheduling, budgeting and resource planning. The middle of the programme addresses contracting and supplier performance, quality and safety on site, and risk and issue management. Closing sessions deal with commissioning, stakeholder communication, benefits tracking and lessons learned so that each project strengthens the next.
Teaching relies on a running case, where groups take a hub project from first concept to handover and present their decisions to a mock steering committee. Templates for charters, schedules, risk logs and status reports are provided and adapted to participants' own projects.
