Data platforms are now the foundation of analytics, machine learning and regulatory reporting, and the choice of where to run them has become a strategic decision rather than a technical one. Banks, telecoms, utilities, governments and development organisations in Africa and beyond often combine several providers, and must reconcile differing services, security models, data residency requirements and pricing structures while keeping teams productive.
The Multi-Cloud Data Platform Architecture, Governance, and FinOps Training Course takes experienced technologists through the whole problem. It begins with architecture patterns and portability trade-offs, then builds the platform layers: storage, ingestion, processing, orchestration, serving and security. It then moves to the governance operating model, covering cataloguing, lineage, quality, privacy and policy as code, before closing with FinOps disciplines that make cost visible and accountable across teams and providers.
Roughly half of each day is spent in labs, using sandbox accounts and open-source tooling wherever possible so that skills carry across vendors. Participants complete a capstone design that includes a reference architecture, governance model, cost forecast and migration roadmap for a scenario or their own organisation.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
