Health systems across Africa and beyond are under constant pressure to change: universal health coverage commitments, devolution of services, electronic medical records, new funding arrangements and shifting disease burdens all demand new behaviour from people who are already stretched. Leaders who treat these shifts as technical projects often find that staff comply on paper and revert in practice, leaving money spent and little improved.
Navigating Tomorrow: Leading Organizational Change in Health Systems Training Course gives senior and middle managers a disciplined approach to the human side of reform. It begins with understanding why health organisations resist change, then moves through readiness assessment, stakeholder analysis, vision building and the design of a change roadmap. Later sessions focus on communication with clinical teams, working with unions and professional bodies, managing the dip in performance that follows any transition, and embedding new routines into policies, supervision and performance review.
Learning is applied throughout. Participants bring a real reform or service change from their own workplace and refine it day by day, using frameworks they can reuse. They finish with a practical change plan, a stakeholder engagement strategy and a set of indicators for judging whether the change is sticking.
