Behind every well-run office is a support team executing the daily tasks that keep it moving: answering calls, managing diaries, filing documents correctly, greeting visitors, and tracking supplies. This course is built for the people doing that work, not the managers designing the systems above it. It focuses on practical competence in the routine tasks that make up most of a support role's working day.
Participants practise handling scheduling requests, drafting routine correspondence, organising physical and digital filing, and managing front-desk and visitor duties professionally. The course also covers basic supplies and equipment tracking so support staff can flag shortages and issues before they disrupt the office.
Throughout the programme, participants work through realistic scenarios drawn from public sector institutions, private enterprises, development organizations, and regulated professional environments, examining how office operations for support staff is applied in practice and where it most often breaks down. Delegates will develop practical skill in designing appropriate frameworks, selecting and applying the right tools for professional written communication, interpreting findings, and communicating conclusions clearly to colleagues, management and external stakeholders. Sessions move deliberately from principles to application, so that each technique introduced is practised against a realistic problem before the programme moves on — strengthening both individual effectiveness and the wider capability of the organizations delegates return to.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
