Workplaces are being reshaped by two pressures that rarely appear in the same procedure manual. Rising temperatures, floods and air quality events expose outdoor and indoor workers to physical harm, while pace of work, unclear roles, conflict and fear of job loss damage mental health. Employers who handle them informally face absenteeism, accidents, grievances and growing expectations from regulators, insurers and employees.
Operational Excellence in Climate-Related and Psychosocial Workplace Risk Training Course takes a process-improvement view of both. Participants begin by defining the risk landscape of their own operations, then learn to assess exposure with heat stress measures, vulnerability reviews and validated psychosocial surveys. They apply the hierarchy of controls to design measures that are practical for their sites, build response plans for climate events and set up confidential support routes for staff in distress. A strong emphasis falls on making the whole system lean: clear ownership, simple documentation, timely data and review cycles that actually change practice.
Teaching uses workplace case files and data exercises. Participants complete a combined risk register, a set of key risk indicators and an improvement plan for their organisation, and they practise presenting the business case to senior management.
