PostgreSQL has become the database of choice for many banks, government systems, start-ups and analytics platforms because it is reliable, standards-compliant and free of licence fees. That popularity puts pressure on organisations to find administrators who can look after it properly. Poor backups, weak security and unmanaged growth are the usual reasons that otherwise sound deployments fail, often months after launch and at the worst possible moment for the business.
The Postgresql Database Administration Training Course is a ten-day, lab-intensive programme that takes participants from first installation to confident production operations. The first week covers architecture, installation, configuration, SQL administration, security, storage management, vacuum and routine maintenance, and the full backup and recovery toolkit. The second week turns to replication and high availability, performance tuning, monitoring, partitioning, extensions, upgrades, and cloud and container deployments.
Each day pairs explanation with exercises on a personal training server, so participants build, break and repair real clusters. The final days bring these skills together in an incident simulation and a capstone in which each participant designs and documents a production-ready PostgreSQL environment.
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
The programme is intended for people who run or rely on PostgreSQL in production, including:
By the end of the ten days, participants will have:
The programme is built around practical work on dedicated lab servers, using:
Participants who complete the ten days and the lab exercises receive a CPD-accredited Certificate of Completion from Vision Reach Global Consultancy.
The certificate records completed training; it is not a vendor certification.
