Monitoring and evaluation has shifted from periodic reports to continuous, data-driven management. Funders ask for dashboards, learning briefs and evidence that feedback from communities is acted upon, and teams are expected to deliver this with limited staff and time. Without a deliberate system, digital tools simply speed up the production of unreliable numbers.
The Practical Digital MEAL, Dashboards & Data Quality Training Course gives participants a complete, working approach. It begins with the architecture of a MEAL system, tracing how an indicator travels from definition through collection, storage, analysis and reporting. Participants then build the components: mobile forms, a structured data repository, cleaning routines and dashboards in Power BI and Excel. A dedicated module addresses accountability to affected people, including feedback and complaint mechanisms and ways of closing the loop with communities.
Data quality runs through the whole programme. Participants learn how to define quality standards, run data quality assessments, detect errors with simple validation rules and document corrections. Learning and adaptive management are covered through review meetings and short learning products. Everyone finishes with a prototype dashboard built on their own indicators and a practical plan for strengthening their digital MEAL system.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
