Energy is typically one of the largest controllable operating costs in an office block, hotel, hospital or campus, and it is also the main source of its carbon footprint. Many organisations know their bills but not what drives them, so efficiency projects are chosen by habit rather than evidence and savings are never verified.
The Professional Building Energy Performance & Decarbonisation Training Course gives practitioners an end-to-end workflow. It begins with data: metering, baselines and normalisation. It then moves to audits and the technical opportunities in cooling, ventilation, lighting, envelope and controls, before addressing the financial case, procurement of renewable supply and the planning of phased retrofits that avoid stranded investment.
Participants apply each step to a worked building case and bring their own consumption data where possible. The programme closes with a decarbonisation roadmap, a prioritised measures register and a monitoring plan that can be taken straight to management or a lender. Throughout, the emphasis is on credible numbers: assumptions are stated, uncertainty is shown and every saving claimed can be traced back to a measurement.
