Customers now arrive with more information, less patience and more ways to complain publicly than ever before. Routine queries are increasingly handled by self-service and chatbots, which means the cases reaching people are the complicated ones: disputed charges, repeated failures, distressed callers and business clients with a lot at stake. Handling them well calls for professional skill, not a script.
The Professional Customer Service & Experience Training Course develops the practice standards expected of experienced service staff. It starts with professionalism itself, including conduct, confidentiality, ownership and the requirements ISO 18295 sets for customer contact centres. Participants then refine consultative questioning and listening, learn structured approaches to de-escalation and complex complaints, and work through cases involving vulnerable customers. A full day is given to written service communication across messaging, email, public social posts and formal letters, with attention to tone, clarity and record keeping. The programme closes with business-to-business service, cross-cultural awareness, resilience and a personal development plan.
Much of the learning happens in role plays based on real service situations, recorded and reviewed with feedback from peers and the facilitator.
