It starts with the basics of connecting to sources and shaping data, then moves to modelling, which is where most dashboards succeed or fail. Participants learn to separate fact and dimension tables, define relationships, and write measures that calculate correctly in any filter context. Visual design follows, with practical rules for selecting charts, arranging a page, using colour with restraint, and designing for different devices and audiences.

The final sessions deal with publishing and governance: workspaces, scheduled refresh, permissions, row-level security, version control and documentation. Everything is taught on a computer, with participants working through guided labs and then building a capstone dashboard on a dataset relevant to their sector. Sample datasets are supplied, and participants may also bring their own non-confidential data.
