Every organisation runs on documents. Proposals win funding, reports justify budgets, emails settle who does what by when, and minutes become the official memory of what was decided. When these are vague, long or inaccurate, the cost shows up as rework, missed deadlines, disputes over what was agreed, and a weaker reputation with partners and leadership.
The Strategic Business Writing & Minute Taking Training Course treats writing as a skill with a method rather than a talent. Participants start by defining purpose and reader before putting a word on the page, then learn to organise material so the main message comes first. They practise writing and editing different formats, including reports, memos, proposals and email, and learn to adjust tone for senior leaders, external partners and difficult messages. In the second half, the focus shifts to meetings: how a secretary prepares the agenda and papers, listens for decisions, takes notes in real time, and turns them into minutes that are neutral, concise and traceable to action owners.
Each day mixes short input with timed writing tasks, peer review and live minute-taking from recorded or role-played meetings. Participants work on their own documents wherever possible, so the improvements carry straight back to the workplace.
