Organisations hold more data than ever, yet leaders often cannot trust the numbers in front of them. Poor data quality leads to wrong decisions, failed digital projects, regulatory breaches and expensive manual clean-up. As artificial intelligence and automated decisions spread, the consequences of bad or unmanaged data become larger and harder to explain.
The programme treats governance as a business capability rather than a technology purchase. It starts with the strategic case, maturity assessment and alignment to organisational priorities. It then covers governance structures, committees, policies, standards and the allocation of ownership and stewardship roles. Participants learn how to define and measure data quality, run issue management and root cause analysis, and embed controls in business processes. Further sessions address metadata, cataloguing, lineage, master data, data sharing agreements, classification, privacy and security, and the governance of analytics and AI inputs.
Delivery combines facilitated workshops, templates and scenario exercises. Teams draft a charter, a stewardship model and a prioritised roadmap for an organisation of their choosing, and leave with materials that can be taken to an executive sponsor.
