Written communication is how most organisations make commitments, report results and protect themselves in a dispute. Yet many professionals receive little formal training in structuring a document, writing for busy executives or recording what a meeting actually decided. The consequences show up as repeated clarifications, vague action points and minutes that attract more argument than agreement.
The Strategy and Innovation in Business Writing & Minute Taking Training Course treats writing and minute taking as strategic tools. Participants begin with audience analysis, purpose and message design, then practise drafting the documents they produce most often: emails, letters, briefing notes, reports, proposals and policy papers. Editing techniques, grammar and punctuation checks and clear layout are built in. The minute-taking sessions teach preparation, active listening, shorthand and structured note methods, the difference between action, decision and discussion minutes, and how to circulate and follow up.
The programme closes with a look at technology and innovation: digital templates, shared workspaces, transcription software and responsible use of AI assistants, including verification and confidentiality. Practical drills run throughout, and participants finish with a personal writing style guide and a reusable minute template for their own organisation.
