Monolithic systems slow releases, scale poorly and fail all at once, so banks, telecoms, fintechs and public platforms are splitting them into independently deployable services. Done badly, that move trades one problem for a tangle of network calls and untraceable faults. Ten days give engineers the design judgement and platform skills to do it well.
The first week covers service decomposition with domain-driven design, REST and gRPC APIs, asynchronous messaging with Kafka or RabbitMQ, data ownership, the saga pattern and resilience techniques such as retries, timeouts and circuit breakers. You package services with Docker and run them on Kubernetes using pods, deployments, services, ingress, ConfigMaps and secrets. The second week deepens operations: Helm charts, persistent storage, autoscaling, rolling and canary releases, CI/CD with GitOps tools such as Argo CD, Istio service mesh, Prometheus, Grafana and distributed tracing, and cluster and supply chain security. A capstone deploys a multi-service application end to end. The course is for backend developers, DevOps and platform engineers, cloud architects, site reliability engineers and technical leads in software companies, banks and government ICT. Classroom, online and in-house delivery lead to a CPD-accredited certificate.
Organisations that must release features weekly, handle sudden spikes in demand and keep services available around the clock are moving away from single large applications. Microservices on Kubernetes make that possible, but they bring distributed-systems complexity: network failures, data consistency across services, version drift, security exposure and a flood of logs and metrics. Teams that adopt the tools without the underlying design discipline often end up with a slower, costlier system.
The Microservices Architecture and Kubernetes Deployment Training Course combines architecture and operations in a single, hands-on programme. In the opening days participants learn how to find sensible service boundaries, design contracts, choose between synchronous and event-driven communication and manage data without a shared database. They then containerise services and learn the Kubernetes objects needed to run them reliably, including networking, configuration, storage and scaling.
Later modules cover what happens after the first deployment: automated build and release pipelines, progressive delivery, service mesh traffic control, monitoring, tracing, incident response and security hardening. Every topic is reinforced with laboratory work on a real cluster, and the programme concludes with an integrated project in which teams design, deploy, break and repair a small multi-service platform. Participants return with working manifests, pipeline definitions and an architecture decision record they can adapt to production work.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Everything you need to know about this course before you register.
By the end of the Microservices Architecture and Kubernetes Deployment programme, you'll be able to decompose a system into services using domain-driven design and bounded contexts, design service apis and choose between rest, grpc and event-driven messaging, manage data ownership and distributed transactions with sagas and the outbox pattern, and build resilient services with timeouts, retries, circuit breakers and idempotent operations. The full breakdown of topics is covered session by session in the Course Outline tab above.
The programme is aimed at technical professionals who build or run distributed systems, including: Backend and full-stack developers, DevOps and platform engineers, Site reliability engineers, Cloud and solution architects, Technical leads and engineering managers, Software engineers modernising legacy applications, Systems administrators moving into container platforms, and ICT specialists in banks, telecoms and government agencies.
