Live Online Professional Cloud, DevOps, FinOps & Platform Engineering Training Course
Live online, instructor-led · next cohort Oct 26, 2026 · from USD 1,700
Moving to the cloud promised speed, yet many teams find themselves with fragile deployments, manual changes nobody can trace, runaway bills and developers waiting weeks for environments. Ten laboratory days show engineers how to run cloud delivery as a disciplined, automated and affordable service. The first week builds foundations: cloud architecture on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, Linux and networking, Git workflows, Terraform infrastructure as code, pipelines in GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, and Docker containers.
The second week goes deeper with Kubernetes, Helm and GitOps, monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana, logging and tracing, site reliability practice, DevSecOps scanning and secrets management, then FinOps cost allocation, rightsizing and budgets. It ends with platform engineering: golden paths, self-service templates and an internal developer platform built as a team project. Delivery is in the classroom, online or in-house. Software developers, system administrators, cloud and DevOps engineers, SREs, technical leads and IT managers will find it directly applicable. Afterwards you can design, automate, secure and cost-govern a cloud platform, and you receive a CPD-accredited certificate.

About this course
Organisations in banking, telecoms, government and technology are shifting workloads to public cloud, but the benefits only arrive when delivery is automated and costs are governed. Teams that provision resources by hand and deploy on Fridays by copying files cannot meet expectations for reliability, security or speed, and cloud invoices that nobody owns soon become a board-level concern.
The Professional Cloud, DevOps, FinOps & Platform Engineering Training Course is a ten-day, laboratory-based programme covering the whole discipline. The first five days lay the engineering foundations: cloud services and architecture, version control, infrastructure as code, continuous integration and delivery, and containerisation. The second five days apply those foundations at scale, with container orchestration, GitOps, observability, reliability engineering, security integrated into pipelines, financial operations and, finally, the design of internal platforms that let product teams self-serve safely.
Participants work in a real cloud account throughout. They write Terraform modules, build pipelines, deploy to Kubernetes, instrument services, break and repair systems, tag and analyse spend, and assemble a working platform prototype in a closing project. The approach suits practitioners who want transferable method instead of dependence on any single vendor console, and every participant leaves with working code repositories and runbooks.
Training Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Design cloud architectures that balance availability, security, performance and cost.
- Provision and manage environments with Terraform and version-controlled infrastructure as code.
- Build automated build, test and deployment pipelines for applications and infrastructure.
- Package applications in containers and run them reliably on Kubernetes.
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting based on service level objectives.
- Integrate security scanning, secrets management and policy controls into delivery pipelines.
- Apply FinOps practices to allocate, forecast and reduce cloud spending.
- Design an internal developer platform with self-service golden paths for product teams.
What you'll learn
Key Takeaways
Participants complete the programme with working assets and a clear operating approach:
- A Git repository of reusable Terraform modules for a secure baseline environment.
- A complete CI/CD pipeline that tests, scans and deploys a containerised application.
- A Kubernetes deployment managed through Helm and a GitOps workflow.
- Dashboards, alerts and service level objectives for a sample service.
- A cloud cost allocation model with tagging standards and savings actions.
- A platform engineering blueprint with golden path templates for their own organisation.
Training Methodology
Roughly two thirds of the ten days are spent in guided laboratories in a live cloud account. The approach includes:
- Short concept briefings followed directly by command-line and code practice
- A continuing sample application that is built, deployed, secured and monitored across the programme
- Fault-injection exercises where participants diagnose and repair broken systems
- Code review and architecture critiques in small teams
- A capstone project presented to peers on the final day
