Organisations now use AI in credit decisions, hiring, customer service, fraud detection and public services, often faster than their controls can follow. Boards, regulators and customers want evidence that systems are lawful, fair, secure and under human oversight. Over ten days you build that assurance from the ground up. The first week sets out AI strategy, inventories, risk classification, policy and roles, and introduces the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO/IEC 42001, ISO/IEC 23894 and the EU AI Act as reference points. The second week moves into practice: AI impact assessments, bias and fairness testing, explainability, model validation, data governance, vendor and generative AI controls, incident response, internal audit and certification readiness.
The programme is designed for chief information, data and risk officers, compliance and internal audit leaders, legal counsel, data science managers, digital transformation directors and public sector policy makers. It runs in classroom format in 18 cities, online, or in-house for an organisation, and ends with a CPD-accredited certificate. Afterwards you can draft an AI policy suite, run a risk assessment on a live use case, and present an implementation plan for an AI management system to your executive team.
Artificial intelligence has moved from experiment to infrastructure. Loan approvals, medical triage, recruitment screening, content moderation and public benefit decisions are increasingly shaped by models that few people in the organisation fully understand. Meanwhile, generative tools spread through business units without approval, creating confidentiality, copyright and accuracy risks. Regulators and standard setters have responded with binding rules and management system standards, and trading partners increasingly ask suppliers to demonstrate responsible practice.
This ten-day programme gives leaders and specialists a complete route from principle to certifiable practice. The first half establishes governance: strategy, inventory of AI systems, risk tiers, roles for owners and committees, policy architecture and the requirements of ISO/IEC 42001 clause by clause. The second half goes deeper into the controls that make the system real, including impact assessment, data quality and provenance, fairness and robustness testing, transparency and human oversight, third-party and generative AI management, monitoring, incident handling and internal audit. A final integrated project asks each participant to assemble an implementation plan.
Teaching combines expert briefings, templates, case files and lab exercises on sample models. Participants leave with policies, registers and assessment tools they can deploy immediately in their own organisations.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
