Technology no longer sits in a separate department. Strategy, customer service, finance and governance all depend on digital systems, and the executives who oversee them need a working understanding of what those systems do. Leaders who lack it find it hard to challenge a vendor's claims, judge a cyber risk or encourage their staff to adopt better ways of working, and they may unintentionally weaken security through their own habits.
The course starts with personal productivity, because credibility is built by doing. Participants practise the everyday tools of collaboration, from co-authoring documents and managing a calendar to running efficient video meetings and keeping a clean, searchable digital workspace. They then move to responsible information handling, including classification, sharing permissions, backup and the basics of data protection obligations.
The middle of the week widens the view to the technologies that influence strategy: cloud platforms, mobile payments, data analytics, automation and generative AI. Rather than coding or configuration, the focus is on use cases, costs, risks and the right questions to ask. The closing sessions turn to leadership, covering how to sponsor change, set digital expectations for teams and review progress. Teaching is relaxed and hands-on, with individual support at every exercise.
