Organisations tend to discover the financial weakness of their continuity plans only when a real disruption arrives. Plans describe alternate sites and recovery teams but rarely say what the recovery will cost, who approves emergency spending or how long reserves will last. Boards, lenders and donors are increasingly asking finance leaders to demonstrate that resilience is funded, not just documented.
The Financial Management for Business Continuity & Operational Resilience Training Course gives finance and risk staff a common language. Participants start with the fundamentals of continuity management and operational resilience, including impact analysis and recovery objectives. They then attach financial values to those objectives, looking at lost income, fixed costs that continue during outages, extra expense and contractual penalties. The programme covers cash and liquidity management under stress, scenario analysis, the economics of redundancy and insurance, and how to prioritise resilience investments within limited budgets.
The teaching style is hands-on, with spreadsheet models and short crisis simulations that force decisions on payments, funding drawdowns and communication. By the end, participants will have produced a costed continuity budget, a liquidity stress test and a financial response protocol tailored to their own organisation.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
