Organisations invest in continuity plans, backup sites and crisis teams, yet many cannot say with evidence whether those arrangements would work on a bad day. Regulators in finance, health and utilities expect demonstrable resilience, and insurers, donors and customers are asking sharper questions. Monitoring and evaluation gives continuity management the same rigour that project teams apply to programmes: clear targets, indicators, data and honest learning.
The Monitoring and Evaluation of Business Continuity & Operational Resilience Training Course shows how to measure each element of a resilience programme. Participants begin by defining what good looks like, linking critical services to impact tolerances and recovery objectives. They then build indicator sets, plan test and exercise programmes, and learn how to collect results from drills, incidents and audits. Later sessions cover evaluation of lessons, maturity assessment and reporting to senior committees.
The learning approach is hands-on. Participants work with sample plans, exercise logs and incident reports, design an assurance calendar, and prepare a resilience dashboard that can be adapted to their institution. Peer discussion helps each person decide which measures are realistic given their own data and staffing.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
