Hazardous substances are present in factories, treatment works, hospitals, schools, research institutes and fuel depots, and the consequences of poor control reach workers, neighbours and the environment. Regulators and insurers increasingly ask not only whether a safety system exists but whether the organisation can prove that it works. Evidence comes from monitoring, measurement and honest evaluation of results.
The Monitoring and Evaluation of Chemical Handling, Laboratory and Process Safety Training Course links technical safety controls to the systems that check them. Participants review how chemical hazards are identified and communicated, how laboratory and process risks are controlled, and how each control can be inspected, measured and audited. They then study performance indicators, data collection, trend analysis and management review, together with incident investigation and corrective action tracking.
Instruction is practical and site oriented, with checklists and templates that participants can take back to their workplaces. Participants inspect a simulated chemical store and laboratory, draft indicators from realistic scenarios, analyse incident data and finish by assembling a monitoring plan that fits their own operations and available resources.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
