Banks hold public deposits and sit at the centre of payments and credit, so the standards applied to them are among the most demanding in any economy. Regulators are tightening expectations on capital, liquidity, governance, financial crime and consumer conduct, and banks that fall short face penalties, restrictions and loss of market confidence. Supervisors and compliance professionals therefore need a shared, current understanding of what sound banking looks like and how to test it.
The Professional Banking Supervision & Regulatory Compliance Training Course covers the supervisory cycle from licensing to enforcement. Participants examine the legal basis for supervision, the Basel Core Principles, risk-based approaches to on-site and off-site work, capital adequacy and liquidity coverage measurement, asset quality and expected credit loss, operational and cyber risk, and corporate governance. A full day is devoted to AML and CFT, including risk assessments, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and the role of the compliance function.
Learning is case driven. Participants analyse anonymised bank financial statements, build a supervisory risk profile, draft examination findings and design a compliance monitoring programme with testing, reporting and remediation tracking. Each leaves with a practical toolkit adaptable to their institution or authority.
