Assets are usually the largest line on an organisation's balance sheet, yet many institutions cannot say with confidence how many they own, where they are or what condition they are in. Ghost items on the fixed asset register, deferred maintenance and capital budgets set without evidence lead to service failures and audit queries. Boards, regulators and funders increasingly expect a structured, auditable approach to how assets are acquired, operated, maintained and retired.
Participants in this course are introduced to the ISO 55000 family of standards and the requirements of ISO 55001, including context, leadership, planning, support, operation, evaluation and improvement. The sessions link engineering decisions to financial reporting, covering asset identification and tagging, capitalisation, depreciation, impairment and disposal alongside condition surveys, criticality, reliability thinking and total cost of ownership. They then show how to convert this evidence into a strategic asset management plan and a prioritised renewal programme.
The approach is workshop based. Delegates analyse sample registers, build a risk ranking and lifecycle cost comparison, and leave with a draft plan outline and an improvement roadmap for their own asset portfolio.
After completing the programme, participants will be able to:

Participants who take part in all sessions and finish the practical work receive a CPD-accredited Certificate of Completion issued by Vision Reach Global Consultancy. It records the programme as continuing professional development rather than a certification to ISO 55001 itself.
