Social media has shortened the time organisations have to respond when something goes wrong. A single post can reach millions before the first internal meeting is held, and silence is read as guilt. At the same time, trust depends on everyday communication that is consistent with strategy long before any emergency.
The Strategic Crisis & Strategic Communication Training Course treats these as one continuous practice. The first part develops strategic communication: analysing audiences, defining objectives, shaping narratives and measuring results. The second part prepares participants for crisis conditions, covering classification of crises, response structures, legal and ethical considerations, media and social media management, and the treatment of staff, victims and regulators.
Participants work on realistic scenarios from health, finance, extractives, education and public service contexts. They leave with a draft communication strategy, a crisis plan with templates, a rehearsed spokesperson performance and a plan for post-crisis review within their own organisation. Throughout, facilitators stress honesty, speed and consistency, because audiences forgive mistakes far more readily than evasion. Legal and executive review points are built into every template so speed never replaces accuracy.
