Management of AML / CFT & Financial Crime Analytics Training Course in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Classroom training in Dar es Salaam · next cohort Oct 26, 2026 · from USD 2,000

Money launderers and terrorist financiers exploit the weakest control in a financial institution, and a single failure can bring regulatory penalties, lost correspondent relationships and lasting reputational damage. Five days give compliance leaders a management framework for anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, paired with the analytical techniques that turn transaction data into investigative leads. You work through the enterprise-wide risk assessment, customer due diligence tiers, beneficial ownership, politically exposed persons, sanctions screening and the FATF recommendations that shape national regimes.

About this course

Financial crime has become faster, more cross-border and more technical, and supervisors now judge institutions on whether their controls work in practice rather than whether policies exist on paper. Weak programmes lead to enforcement action, de-risking by correspondent banks and exclusion of legitimate customers from the formal financial system.

The Management of AML / CFT & Financial Crime Analytics Training Course covers the whole life of a compliance programme. Participants begin with the legal and standards framework, then build an institution-wide risk assessment, define customer acceptance and ongoing due diligence, and set governance, reporting lines and the role of the money laundering reporting officer. The second half turns to data: how transaction monitoring scenarios are designed and tuned, how false positives are reduced, how networks of accounts are mapped, and how investigators document findings in reports that financial intelligence units can use.

Learning is applied from the first session. Participants analyse sample transaction extracts, review alert queues, challenge model assumptions and draft management information for senior committees. By the end they will hold a tailored programme review checklist, a monitoring improvement plan and a clear view of where analytics can strengthen their own institution.

Training Objectives

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the FATF recommendations and how they translate into institutional obligations.
  • Design an enterprise-wide money laundering and terrorist financing risk assessment.
  • Apply risk-based customer due diligence, including beneficial ownership and politically exposed person checks.
  • Evaluate sanctions screening and transaction monitoring controls for coverage and effectiveness.
  • Use data analysis and link analysis to identify suspicious patterns and typologies.
  • Prepare high-quality suspicious transaction reports that support investigation.
  • Define governance, roles and management information for an AML / CFT function.
  • Assess the performance of controls and recommend measurable improvements.
