Power failures, cyber incidents, supplier collapse, floods and civil disruption rarely arrive one at a time, and organisations that rehearsed only a single scenario discover the gaps when it matters. Five days equip experienced continuity and risk professionals to build resilience that survives complex, overlapping disruption. Participants conduct business impact analysis, set recovery time and recovery point objectives, map critical services and dependencies, and test third-party and supply chain exposure. Sessions align programme design to ISO 22301, covering policy, governance, metrics and management review, and link continuity with enterprise risk, crisis communication, ICT recovery and impact tolerance thinking used in operational resilience.
The second half is practical: designing recovery strategies, writing playbooks, running tabletop and live exercises, and learning from incidents. The programme is intended for business continuity managers, risk and compliance heads, operations directors, ICT and security managers, and facilities and emergency planners in banks, utilities, government agencies, NGOs and large enterprises. It is offered in classroom, online and in-house formats with a CPD-accredited certificate. Afterwards you can defend a continuity strategy to an executive committee and prove that it works.
Resilience is no longer a back-office concern. Boards, regulators and customers expect critical services to continue through disruption, or to be restored within tolerances that were agreed in advance. Basic continuity plans that sit in a binder are not enough when disruption is digital, interconnected and fast moving.
This advanced programme assumes participants already know the vocabulary and want to raise the standard of their continuity management system. It begins by moving from plan-centred thinking to service-centred resilience, using critical services, impact tolerances and dependency mapping. Participants then deepen business impact analysis and risk assessment, evaluate strategic options for people, premises, technology and suppliers, and examine how a mature system is governed, resourced and audited against ISO 22301. Later sessions address crisis leadership, decision logging, stakeholder messaging and the specific demands of ICT disaster recovery and cyber incident response.
The final part of the course is devoted to exercising and improvement. Participants design a scenario, run it under pressure, record findings and convert them into a corrective action plan that management can track.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Participants leave with working tools and a plan of action:
The sessions treat participants as peers and concentrate on the harder judgements in resilience work. They include:
Day 1: From Continuity Plans to Operational Resilience
Day 2: Advanced Impact and Risk Analysis
Day 3: Strategy and the Management System
Day 4: Crisis Leadership, ICT and Cyber Recovery
Day 5: Exercising, Assurance and Improvement
Because the content is advanced, it is aimed at practitioners with prior exposure to continuity or risk work, such as:
On completing the programme and its practical simulations, each delegate receives a CPD-accredited Certificate of Completion issued by Vision Reach Global Consultancy. This recognises attendance and active participation in the exercises, and it does not constitute a certification in ISO 22301.
